Covid-19 Update

Due to the Covid-19 virus, our usual practice operations have changed.

On the advice of the HSPC we are no longer offering a walk in service. Please contact reception by phone if you need an appointment on 052 6121288

Our reception staff will enquire if you have any respiratory symptoms e.g. cough, fever, or shortness of breath. For those patients who do not have respiratory symptoms and who need essential appointments, in so far as is possible, will be given an appointment time with their usual doctor, this may be over the phone or in the practice. 

In line with HSPC recommendations we are asking everyone attending the practice to wear a face covering or mask.

Women’s Health

Implanon Insertion / Removal

As this is a specialised procedure, please inform the Administration Team of the reason for your visit to the Practice when booking so the correct appointment type and time can be booked. If you are having an Implanon inserted during your appointment, please ensure that you bring it with you to the appointment. Ante-natal care

Every women who is pregnant and ordinarily resident in Ireland is entitled to maternity care under the Maternity and Infant Scheme. Ordinarily resident means you are living here, or you intend to remain living here for at least one year. The Maternity and Infant Care Scheme provides an agreed programme of care to all expectant mothers who are ordinarily resident in Ireland. This service is provided by a family doctor (GP) of your choice and a hospital obstetrician. You are entitled to this service even if you do not have a medical card. Mirena Insertion / Removal

Mary Street Medical Centre offer a mirena insertion and removal services.   The appointment takes approximately half an hour and so when you are making the appointment, please let the receptionist know why you require the appointment. For insertions, please ensure that you bring the Mirena with you to the consultation. For further information with regard to fees for this service please contact one of our Reception Team.

The medical centre was set up in 1983 by Dr. Colman Walsh and has expanded over the years. Today we have 6 GPs, practice nurses and other qualified personnel offering a friendly, family orientated service to the community.
