Blood tests

When attending an appointment, your Doctor may express a wish for you to have specific blood tests taken.  If this is the case, they will inform you whether these are ‘routine’ blood tests or if they want specific blood work such as a cholesterol check which are known as ‘fasting bloods’.

When making an appointment at reception, please let them know whether they are ‘routine’ or ‘fasting’.  The receptionist shall try to facilitate ‘fasting’ bloods as early in the morning as possible, as demand can be high on specific days for this service it is important to make the appointment as far in advance as possible.

Bloods are taken Monday to Thursday only.

Please allow a minimum of 5 working days for your blood test result to arrive back in the surgery.  If calling about blood tests please note that a nurse is available to give results between 1pm and 3pm Monday to Thursday only.
